Choosing a web hosting provider can be challenging, especially if you don’t know what to look for. In this comprehensive WebHostingPad.com review, we tested this web host’s services to ensure you have all the information you need to make an informed decision.
Read on to discover what we learned. The test conducted is as follows.
Evaluating the Performance of Web Hosting Pad
Web Hosting Pad has a total of three data centers, with one located in the USA, one in India, and one in Korea.
While the host allows you to choose which data center to use, you must do so when you sign up for an account. You have to be careful because you can’t change the data center after you’ve signed up.
Just remember that you want your data center to be as close as possible to your target market to ensure the best load speeds for your website.
Web Hosting Pad: Speed
We wanted to see how fast Web Hosting Pad was compared to other top hosting providers. The good news is that they didn’t disappoint.
To conduct the test, we created a website and populated it with content, just like a normal site. We used the same site across all the web hosts, including the comparison ones, to ensure accurate results.
Web Hosting Pad was able to load a 1.2 mb web page in 3.3 seconds, which is the recommended load time worldwide.
When it came time to compare their services to other hosting providers, we started with Bluehost as they are one of the most popular web hosts on the market at the moment.
As previously stated, we used the same website to test Bluehost, but also the same tool to measure the speed, namely Pingdom.
Bluehost took 4.5 seconds to load a 1.38 mb webpage, making it over 1 second slower than Web Hosting Pad. While in the grand scheme of things, 1 second might not seem like a major difference. However, when it comes to webpage load speeds, it’s practically an eternity.
However, Bluehost isn’t exactly known for offering great speeds as their strengths lie elsewhere. So, we decided to pit Web Hosting Pad against the fastest web hosting provider in the world at the moment, namely Kinsta.
Kinsta was able to load a 1.23 MB webpage in 962 MS, making this web host three times faster than Web Hosting Pad. Of course, it’s not exactly a fair comparison.
After all, if you want your pages loading in less than one second with Kinsta, you’ll have to pay $30 per month for one website. Web Hosting Pad, on the other hand, charges $3 per month for one website.
It’s not exactly fair to say that you pay ten times as much with Kinsta for three times the speed since they offer a slew of other features and performance improvements.
Kinsta is all about cutting-edge performance, whereas Web Hosting Pad still provides solid performance but for those on a budget.
The web hosting provider you choose shouldn’t be based just off speed. While having excellent speed is great, you also have to consider other factors such as price and whether you need all that performance.
After all, if you’re setting up a simple presentation website that’s going to be mainly text with very few images or resource-intensive content, then it’s probably not worth paying $30 per month. That’s even more true if you don’t envision your website receiving tons of traffic.
Web Hosting Pad: What Is Their Pricing Model?
Web Hosting Pad offers three categories of plans, namely Shared Hosting, WordPress Hosting, and VPS Hosting.
This web hosting provider offers three Shared Hosting plans. The Power Plan mini is the cheapest for a one-year billing cycle coming in at $3.5 per month. However, it only supports a maximum of 2 websites and comes with a 10GB limit on hosting space and a 100GB limit on Bandwidth.
The Power Plan and Power Plan Plus offer hosting for unlimited websites and have no limitations in terms of hosting space and bandwidth. The Plus version of the plan also features priority support and provides a greater degree of computing power on upgraded servers.
The Power Plan costs $3.99 per month for a one-year billing cycle and the Power Plan Plus is $7.99 per month. However, if you agree to sign up for a four-year billing cycle or more, you can get the first plan at a mere $1.99 per month and the second at $4.99 per month. The Power Plan Mini is not available for a billing cycle longer than three years.
WordPress hosting also features three plans, namely WP Basic, WP Pro, and WP Premium. The Basic version allows for a maximum of 5 sites, while the Pro is for 10 sites, and the Premium for 25 sites. According to the web host, each of the plans offers increasing amounts of computing power, as well.
WP Basic is available at $4.99 per month for a one-year billing cycle, while Pro will set you back $5.99 per month, and Premium will cost you $7.99 per month.
Web Hosting Pad’s VPS hosting plans start at $29.95 per month for the Beginner Plan and go all the way up to $99.95 for the Managed plan.
SiteGround, by comparison, offers Shared Hosting and Dedicated WordPress Hosting plans for one website starting at $6.95 per month for a billing cycle of a minimum one year. The price, however, remains the same, even if you go for longer billing cycles.
Bluehost Shared Hosting and Shared WordPress Hosting plans start at $2.95 per month for one website. Their Dedicated Hosting plans start at $79.99 per month, whereas VPS hosting starts at $18.99.
Discover Some of the Features Web Hosting Pad Offers
Web Hosting Pad provides a free website transfer with every account. This is definitely a positive as other web hosts often charge for this feature, with prices averaging $100 per website.
This web hosting provider also offers free weekly backups. However, if you want access to automatic backups, you will have to pay $19 per year.
Like SiteGround and Bluehost, Web Hosting Pad also offers free Cloudflare CDN for better performance.
The control panel they provide is cPanel, which is another advantage for any webmaster transferring from another host who already uses cPanel. This will likely be the case for most site owners seeing as cPanel is the most popular control panel and most major hosting companies provide it for their clients.
The reason cPanel is so popular is that it is very user-friendly. It offers things like one-click installation of WordPress and many other content management systems.
Is Web Hosting Pad a Reliable Hosting Service?
Guaranteeing 99.99% uptime has become an industry-standard, though not all companies are actually able to fulfill their promise. To determine whether Web Hosting Pad fulfills their guarantee, we tracked their uptime for one month.
While we can’t make determinations regarding a lengthier timeframe as we don’t have the data, we were very impressed with their results for the period we monitored them. They achieved an uptime of 100% during our month of tracking, which is beyond impressive.
To ensure this isn’t just a lucky coincidence, we will continue tracking them and update this post with another month of data.
Is Web Hosting Pad Secure?
One major concern is, of course, the level of security. How safe will your website be with Web Hosting Pad? How well do they defend you against hackers and other attacks, like DDOS?
Web Hosting Pad offers free SSL certificates, a premium back up service, and automatic malware scans to protect your website. From our point of view, we feel they are very solid in terms of security.
Furthermore, they work with Cloudflare for their other security needs, which is definitely a positive. Cloudflare is one of the most reputable and effective companies when it comes to handling website security.
Web Hosting Pad: Customer Support
Web Hosting Pad offers a 24/7 live chat, as well as a ticketing system and well-written, comprehensive documentation.
When we tested their customer support team, we could see that they place a lot of emphasis on providing good customer service. Their live chat team was incredibly fast in terms of their response time.
However, by comparison, their ticketing system was slower to respond than expected. It took their team 24 hours to get back to us, which, for a web hosting provider, isn’t that great.
Their live chat was beyond impressive, though. It took no more than 5 seconds to connect and it only took them between 25 and 40 seconds to reply to my messages.
Generally speaking, most other web hosting providers have their support staff handling multiple clients concurrently, which means that you end up waiting to get answers quite a bit.
However, this didn’t happen with Web Hosting Pad. It genuinely felt like we were the agent’s main focus and they were determined to help us with whatever we needed.
What Do Users Say About Web Hosting Pad?
We conducted extensive research on a variety of social media websites, including Facebook and Twitter. Overwhelmingly, the response regarding Web Hosting Pad was positive. People who have worked with them have had a good experience.
However, there weren’t quite as many reactions and comments as we’d hoped for. This is simply because Web Hosting Pad isn’t quite as popular as BlueHost or SiteGround.
Do We Recommend Web Hosting Pad?
Web Hosting Pad is a solid web hosting provided that offers quite a bit and doesn’t have too many drawbacks. While they might not offer performance on par with SiteGround or Kinsta, they don’t claim to.
What this web host does offer in terms of performance is more than ideal for owners of small websites who want reliable hosting at a very attractive price. So, if you’re looking for reliable but cheap hosting and have a small website, then Web Hosting Pad is a service I can fully recommend for your needs.
